Zones of Regulation
At Eastbury, we use Zones of Regulation to support our pupils in being able to name their emotions, notice how they are physically and mentally feeling, learn strategies to support themselves in self-regulation and how to support others.
What are the Zones of Regulation?
THE GREEN ZONE
Calm, happy, focused and ready to learn.

Heightened alertness, excited, nervous, silly.

How will the Zones of Regulation look in Eastbury Primary School?
Pupils will be taught about the different Zones. They will learn strategies to move between zones and regulate emotions. The Zones will become part of everyday classroom practice.
What can I do to support the Zones of Regulation at home?
- Talk about feelings using Zones language
- Praise when your child is in the Green Zone
- Help your child recognise their zone
- Teach calming strategies
- Encourage positive choices
